I realize it’s been too long since I’ve written a substantial post, so blog let’s catch up:
Being that it is my last semester in college; the semester has been filled with job applications, theses, graduation details, and planning for the future. Sometimes I still can’t believe I’m graduating. I can still remember my scared and excited self at freshman orientation, completely naïve to what the years would bring. Some heartache, trials, life lessons, shared stories and laughs with friends about mistakes made the night before and our experiences and relationship with alcohol, excitement, great friends, and finally finding a part of what I believe to be my purpose. While I fill out job applications and start the process of making finalizing decisions, I can’t help but think about something. Ever since we have been in grade school, even high school, we have been encouraged to go after our dreams, with the ‘sky’s the limit’ mind-set. As college acts between a bubble from reality and the preparation for reality, I can’t help but wonder if our destiny has been lost in translation between the static of being told to be “realistic” and following our dreams. Don’t get me wrong, having a sound mind and keeping a strong dose of realism in ourselves is extremely important and necessary, it keeps our feet on the pavement. I just can’t help but wonder; to what extent should our dreams extend until they are deemed ridiculous? And aren’t crazy and genius supposed to work hand in hand and not be counteractive of one another? I suppose these are some things I will have to discover and/or figure out from here.

Your 8-year-old Self
I found this and thought, wow! What a perfect way of summing up yourself!
Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live
the
life you've imagined. As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe
will be simpler.
