I don't want to do homework..

Finding it hard to concentrate on my homework at the moment. Just wanting to climb into my bed and fall asleep under the warm covers..But since that isn't an option at the moment, I'm settling down at my desk with my cup of coffee and Landon Pigg. All I need right now.

"i hope someday,
somebody wants to hold you for twenty minutes straight and that's all they do.
they don't pull away, they don't look away, they don't try to kiss you. all they
do is wrap you up in their arms and hold on tight without an ounce of
selfishness to it." – the waitress

Joe: Now, come on. You're not that drunk.
Princess Ann: [laughing] If you're
so smart I'm not drunk at all. I'm just being
[her head falls against his
chest]
Princess Ann: verrrrry haaaappy...

Where's the off button?

Blahh that's about how I've been feeling lately. I've been in a funk these past couple of days and can't completely articulate or understand why I am. Although I'm pretty sure I know what the root of what's causing it, sometimes I just wish I wasn't stemmed with strong feelings and emotions. I mean, really how do they help? And why do us girls bear the brunt of getting the greater emotional gene? Or for a more medically appropriate term, why do we produce more prolactin (works with hormones) in our mood regulation system? I mean, what's up with that?? Sometimes I think my emotions play tricks on me, distorting my perception on situations that just serve to complicate things even more. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a nice long cry every now and then. I prefer my shower, where I can let all my tears out in the company of the man made rain shower above me. It's like a therapy to me, soothing my hurt and releasing my hormones, but not too much to where my body becomes exhausted. But these days I've been feeling a different type of emotional pain, numbness. I just want to have an ' off ' button on these feelings. I wish it were realistic. Blah.

HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!

New Year's Day is every man's birthday. ~Charles Lamb

The Old Year has gone. Let the dead past bury its own dead. The New Year has taken possession of the clock of time. All hail the duties and possibilities of the coming twelve months. ~Edward Payson Powell

Should old acquaintances be forgotten,
And never brought to mind?
Should old acquaintances be forgotten,
And days of long ago !

-Robert Burns-Auld Lang Syne (New Years eve song)

"

"That's the worst of girls," said Edmund to Peter and the Dwarf. "They never can carry a map in their heads."

"That's because our heads have something inside them," said Lucy."

-The lion, the witch, and the wardrobe, C.S. Lewis

When I look at my room, I see a girl who loves books.

-Looking for Alaska, John Green

As you enter the tunnel, the wind gets sucked away, and you squint from the lights overhead. When you adjust to the lights, you can see the other side in the distance just as the sound of the radio fades to nothing because the waves just can't reach. Then, you're in the middle of the tunnel, and everything becomes a calm dream. As you see the opening get closer, you just can't get there fast enough. And finally, just when you think you'll never get there, you see the opening right in front of you. And the radio comes back even louder than you remember it. And the wind is waiting. And you fly out of the tunnel onto the bridge. And there it is. The city. A million lights and buildings and everything seems as exciting as the first time you saw it.

-The Perks of Being a Wallflower

The Perks of Being a Wallflower:

"So, this is my life. And I want you to know that I am both happy and sad and I'm still trying to figure out how that could be."

“Charlie, we accept the love we think we deserve.”

"And in that moment, I swear we were infinite."

"I hope it's the kind of second side that he can listen to whenever he drives alone and feel like he belongs to something whenever he's sad. I hope it can be that for him."

"And all the books you’ve read have been read by other people. And all the songs you’ve loved have been heard by other people. And that girl that’s pretty to you is pretty to other people. And you know that if you looked at these facts when you were happy, you would feel great because you are describing “unity”.
It’s like when you are excited about a girl and you see a couple holding hands, and you feel so happy for them. And other times you see the same couple, and they make you so mad. And all you want is to always feel happy for them because you know that if you do, then it means you’re happy, too."

"It's great that you can listen and be a shoulder to someone, but what about when someone doesn't need a shoulder? What if they need the arms or something like that? You can't just sit there and put everybody's lives ahead of yours and think that counts as love. You just can't. You have to do things.”
